Mandy Ashley, Executive Director

Mandy Ashley formerly served on the Board at AHA, and was Manager of Government and Corporate Relations for University of Colorado Health. Mandy graduated from the University of South Dakota with a B.S. in Political Science and Communication Studies. In 2013, Mandy earned her J.D. and Master of Health Administration from Saint Louis University and moved to Colorado. Mandy is admitted to the State Bar of Colorado.

Johanna Glaviano, Program Coordinator

After receiving her Masters in Gerontology from the University of Northern Colorado, Johanna worked as a program assistant and Interim Director with the Weld County Retired and Senior Volunteer Program. Johanna’s background also includes several years as a legal assistant at a law firm specializing in elder law and estate planning, a position as an intake care manager with Colorado Access, and program coordinator of a new senior outreach program through the GLBT Center called Capitol Hill Care Link. She worked with The Senior Hub from December 2016 to April 2019, a position that included overseeing homecare, coordinating volunteers and special events, and facilitating a caregiver support group.

Denise Denton, Community Outreach Development Consultant

Denise Denton joined Aurora Health Alliance as the Executive Director in March 2014, and stepped down into this position in 2019. Denise works as an independent consultant for her own company, D2, Inc. Denise’s areas of focus have been board and staff leadership, training, and development, team building and collaboration, project planning, grant writing coaching, meeting facilitation, community capacity building, and workforce recruitment and retention.

Denise moved to Colorado – and to Aurora – in 1991. She is the founding Executive Director of the Colorado Rural Health Center, the first State Offices of Rural Health to be organized as a not-for-profit organization. She led the Center for fifteen years, until December 2006, helping establish one of the most respected and innovative Offices of Rural Health in the country.

Prior to moving to Colorado, Denise worked in the Rural Health Offices in Arizona, located at the University Of Arizona School Of Medicine; and Utah, located within the State Health Department.At a national level, Denise served on National Health Service Corps Advisory Council; on the board and as Treasurer of the National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health; and on the board of the National Rural Health Association – and as its President in 1992. Denise also served on First Lady Clinton’s National Health Task Force chairing committees on Health Workforce Development, and Rural and Frontier Access. Denise has a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management from the University of Utah.

Bobbie Jo Morrell, Communications Coordinator

Bobbie Jo Morrell joined our team as our Communications Coordinator in 2016. After working for many years in the IT world as a technical writer and web professional, including work for healthcare organizations, Bobbie Jo is in charge of creating and sending AHA newsletters and communications pieces, maintaining the AHA databases, and managing the website. In addition to her work for AHA, Bobbie Jo has an Etsy business doing leather-craft, leads nature-based contemplative retreats, and is a writer.
